I took my first watercolor class in January, 2020. When the Shelter-in-Place orders came in March, I found that painting allowed me to disappear to places I couldn't visit. Both of my kids and my two new granddaughters live in Oregon, and painting the colorful skies and wheat fields near my son's family home, and the beaches we have visited with my daughter's family have given me a way to imagine the days when we can visit again.
