Welcome to Capitola Recreation Afterschool Rec Club. We are very excited to have the opportunity to serve you and your child.

Capitola Recreation is accepting registration for the Afterschool Rec Club, on campus, at New Brighton Middle School. Students can enjoy a safe and fun place to get homework help, a healthy snack, participate in special activities and develop confidence in learning new skills. Our program dates follow the SUESD calendar and hours vary depending on which school your child attends. Program starts at the end of the school day and ends at 6:00pm Monday-Thursday and 5:00pm on Fridays.

Afterschool Rec Club Sample Schedule:

Monday -Thursday:                                                  Fridays:

2:30 pm: Transport/Snack/Chill time                          11:45-1:30 pm: Transport/lunch/chill time

3:30 pm: Homework                                                    2:30 pm: Activity time (Usually a fun field trip)

4:30 pm: Activity time                                                 4:00 pm: snack

5:30-6 pm: Clean up & Pick up time                           4:30-5 pm: Clean up & Pick up time

Staff Qualification

All staff have been trained in Positive Discipline, Diversity & Inclusion and are CPR & First Aid Trained. Senior Leaders are also CA Food Handler’s Certified.

Program Scholarships

The Capitola Public Safety & Community Foundation partners with Capitola Recreation to review and award Youth Scholarship Applications for children who otherwise would not be able to afford services. The following are guidelines for applicants to ensure that the correct procedures are followed in the application and registration process. Scholarship applications must be submitted before the program begins.
