Capitola City Hall has implemented electronic application submittals 

The City of Capitola Building Department provides plan checking and building inspection services to assure compliance with the California Building Code. The Building Department enforces the provisions of the State Housing Code and the International Existing Building Code. In addition the Building Official serves as the City of Capitola's Americans with Disabilities Act compliance officer.

Building Inspections

Building inspections currently occur in the afternoon.  Click Request a Building Inspection in the menu on the left-hand side of this page to use our web-form to request a building inspection. Or, use this link to access the web-form. 

*Holiday Schedule*  The building department has a modified schedule December 22 - January 2.  Due to the midweek holidays, inspections will only occur on Mondays and Fridays. 

Inspection the week of 12/23 - 12/27 must be scheduled by Friday December 20th at 2 pm.

Inspections the week of 12/30 - 1/3 must be scheduled by Friday December 27th at 2 pm.  

Counter Hours

Counter Hours are 9 am to 12 pm daily.
