Wharf Memorial Program Plaques & Benches

In 2022, the City documented all of the existing Wharf Plaques in anticipation of the Wharf Renovation Project by taking a detailed photo inventory. Any plaques lost in the January 2023 storm were reordered. Installation of the reordered plaques on the railing and benches is ongoing, with hopes of completion in Fall 2024. Only preexisting plaques are being installed; the City is not accepting applications to place any new plaques on the Capitola Wharf. If you have inquiries about your Wharf plaque, please contact the Public Works Department at CapitolaDPW@ci.capitola.ca.us. 

In addition to the damage to the Capitola Wharf, the January 2023 storms also impacted the Esplanade and other public areas. Included in the damage were memorial plaques and benches. Please email or call Public Works to update your contact information so that staff can contact you with inquiries, etc. 

New Memorial Program Applications

The City is not accepting applications to place any new plaques on Capitola Wharf. Limited space is available for new memorial plaques. Please contact CapitolaDPW@ci.capitola.ca.us with inquiries.
