A Quiet Dock
Artist: Lee Bookman
Media: Acrylic on Canvas
My artistic focus is to deconstruct large areas of color and form into smaller component geometric planes, and then attempt to put all the planes together into an integrated image. This focus goes back to my early admiration for the Dutch painter, Piet Mondrian, and to the early 20th Century American “Precisionists”, including Charles Demuth (1883-1935) and Charles Sheeler (1893-1965. Its all about the definitive power of lines.
