HERO Program

Capitola Joins HERO Program

The City of Capitola has become the latest California agency to join the HERO program, which is a voluntary financing program to help Capitola residents purchase energy and water efficiency upgrades to their homes.  The HERO program allows residents to pay for improvements through their annual property tax bills rather than providing up-front financing.  The HERO program offers financing assistance for over 900,000 product types, including:  rooftop solar systems, solar hot water heaters, grey water systems, home insulation, electric vehicle charging stations, HVAC systems, cool roofs, ceiling fans, light fixtures, and high efficiency faucets and showerheads.  More information on the HERO program may be obtained at https://www.heroprogram.com/capitola or by calling Community Development staff at 831-475-7300
