Outside Agency Boards

The City of Capitola holds seats on the boards of a number of outside agencies that oversee programs and other efforts of importance to City residents. Some of these positions are open to non-elected community members.

Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission - Bicycle Advisory Board

The City of Capitola is currently represented by a resident on the Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission's Bicycle Committee. The Bicycle Committee is recruited through the Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Commission with a nomination by a City Council member. Santa Cruz County Measure Q Citizens Oversight Advisory Board

Approved by Santa Cruz County voters in November 2024, the Santa Cruz County Safe Drinking Water, Clean Beaches, Wildfire Risk Reduction, and Wildlife Protection Initiative (Measure Q ) is a transformative local effort aimed at protecting and enhancing the county’s precious natural resources. To ensure transparency and accountability, a Citizens Oversight Advisory Board has been established and is currently recruiting members, including a representative from Capitola.   • Conducts public hearings and gathers input on funding priorities.
  • Reviews annual reports from agencies and organizations funded by Measure Q.
  • Supports the development and approves the Vision Plan every five years to guide investments based on current needs and best practices.
