Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan (MJHMP)
The City of Capitola is participating in the development of a Santa Cruz County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan (MJHMP). This plan identifies strategies to reduce the risks from natural hazards such as wildfires, earthquakes, floods, and coastal storms. It is a key step in improving community safety and maintaining eligibility for future hazard mitigation funding from FEMA.
This countywide planning effort is being led by the County of Santa Cruz Office of Response, Recovery & Resilience, in collaboration with cities, special districts, and other local partners.
