Welcome to capitola

Capitola recently added more than 220 parking spaces in the new Beach and Village Parking Lot 2 (lower), located behind City Hall at 420 Capitola Avenue.   Access to Beach and Village Parking Lots 1 & 2 (Upper and Lower) is on Capitola Avenue, Bay Avenue and Monterey Avenue.

Our free summer shuttle to the Village runs from the Beach and Village Parking Lot 2 (Lower).  The shuttle is available Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Memorial Day weekend through mid-September.  Both lots are just a short walk or shuttle ride to the Village.  Parking costs for the Beach and Village Parking Lots 1 & 2 (Upper and Lower) is $0.50 an hour and you can stay for up to 12 hours.  These lots are highly recommended if you plan to stay longer than the three hour limit imposed in the Village parking spaces.

The pay stations accept cash ($1.00 & $2.00 Bills Only), debit cards and credit cards and operate everyday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Parking in the Village

Parking spaces in the Village area are limited to three-hour stays at a rate of $1.50 an hour.  Vehicles may be cited if they remain in the same space longer than three hours, regardless of payment for more time.  Vehicles must be moved to another space every three hours.

Longer term parking (4-hour and 12-hour) is available on Cliff Drive west of the Village.  You must pay for parking at the pay stations.  The rate for these spaces is $1.00 an hour.

There are four different types of residential parking permits - each with different rules, but each requires a permit which can be obtained from the Police Department.  Parking permits are strictly enforced.
