Capitola Makes Top Charming and Quirky Beach Town Lists

The recognition keeps coming: the website Loveexploring named Capitola one of "America's Most Charming Seaside Towns" and the San Francisco Chronicle's SFGate website included Capitola on its list of "Northern California's Quirkiest Beach Towns." Loveexploring extolls the combination of 150 years as a tourist destination and the surf break, while SFGate notes that Alfred Hitchcock drew inspiration from a Capitola incident for his movie "The Birds."

Earlier this summer, the website FishingBooker named Capitola as one of its "9 Most Unspoiled Vacation Spots." Capitola is the only town in California selected among the nationwide list. The article praises the Monterey Bay as a wonderland for fishing enthusiasts, but attributes the quirky boutiques, funky restaurants, and numerous fun events for earning the top-nine rating.
